Event Objective

The objective of the networking mixer is to educate students about networking, and then allow them to practice their new networking skills. This event provides the opportunity for students and alumni to mingle with those who work in a variety of different industries, including but not limited to high-tech, engineering, research, and more! This is not a hiring event, but a great way for students of all STEM related majors to meet employees/employers and familiarize themselves with companies that are located in the Seattle area.

Not only will this event allow for the participants to practice networking, it will also give you the opportunity to promote upcoming job and internship opportunities to the students participating at the mixer. It is also an excellent opportunity to network with other professionals in the Seattle area.

As a guest at this event, you may need to take more responsibility for facilitating conversation than would be necessary at other events. Our participants will be looking to you as a model for social skills and effective networking interactions.

What to Bring

The only item you need to bring is your business cards to exchange with participants at the event.

If you would like to bring a small amount of marketing materials (such as a stack of brochures), there will be a table set up in the lobby to leave information for those interested.
